Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2018 – 2019 school year! I am thrilled to be the principal of this wonderful community for the 3rd year.
Sorrento Elementary prides itself in meeting the needs of all learners.  We place a great focus on acceptance and tolerance of differences and inclusion. We provide individualized attention where and when it is needed, because we believe, “not everybody gets the same, but everybody gets what they need.” We are a community school with an open door policy.  We appreciate and benefit from input from our students, our parents and our community partners. I believe that we are all interconnected and we all contribute to the making of a better school and a better world.
Our school population is approximately 175 students in grades kindergarten to grade 5. We offer programs for students requiring speech language support, counselling support, or OT/PT support on an as-needed basis. We also host a StrongStart drop-in program, free for children aged 0 – 4 and their parent or caregiver on Tuesday mornings. Please call our school for more details.
I look forward to working with you this school year and to the memorable times ahead! Kukwtsétsemc! (Thank you, in the local Shuswap language – Secwepemctsin)
